Webinar: RED II – What the latest EU directive means for sustainable biofuels and bioenergy certification?

As companies worldwide battle to reduce their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and carbon footprint, many are turning to renewable energy sources. One available alternative is bioenergy: energy derived from organic materials that is capable of providing direct heat, electricity and being stored and transported where it is needed in the form of fuels.

The EU’s Renewable Energy Directive 2018/2001 (RED II) sets sustainability criteria for biofuels, biomass fuels as well as renewable fuels of non-biological origin (RFNBO) and recycled carbon fuels (RCF). Several voluntary schemes exist that help companies ensure full compliance with the RED II requirements.

This webinar introduces basic requirements of the RED II as well as three voluntary schemes recognized by the European Commission: REDcert EU, ISCC EU and KZR INiG.
