SUCCESS STORY
A leading global textile and apparel manufacturer engaged Bureau Veritas to perform independent third‑party verification of selected GHG emissions data for CDP disclosure and California SB253 compliance. Our team conducted a Limited Verification of the client’s 2025 emissions in accordance with ISO 14064‑3:2019, delivering two verification statements: one covering Scopes 1–2 for SB253 requirements, and another covering Scopes 1–3 for CDP reporting. We also provided a Queries/Issues Log capturing key findings and recommendations. This verification enabled the client to meet regulatory expectations, ensure timely CDP submission, and improve the efficiency and accuracy of future reporting cycles.
Challenges
Organizations often struggle to keep pace with the evolving requirements of CDP reporting. Each year, CDP updates its questionnaires, prompting companies to provide more comprehensive, evidence‑based responses across climate, water, forests, biodiversity, and plastics. This creates challenges in aligning fragmented environmental data across departments and suppliers, especially when consistency and traceability are required.
At the same time, stakeholders such as investors, customers, and regulators expect credible, standardized, and transparent disclosures that demonstrate not only compliance but year‑on‑year improvement in performance.
Why Bureau Veritas?
Bureau Veritas is uniquely positioned to support organizations on their CDP journey due to our status as an Accredited CDP Solutions Provider. We offer proven expertise in guiding companies through every stage of disclosure, ensuring their reporting is both rigorous and aligned with CDP expectations. Our involvement in the CDP SME Technical Working Group enables us to contribute to the evolution of the framework and stay ahead of methodological changes, bringing that insight directly to our clients.
In addition, Bureau Veritas brings deep global experience in supply chain performance and sustainability advisory services with the ability to integrate CDP outcomes into broader sustainability strategies such as decarbonization planning and supplier improvement programs.
