THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL SECURITY AHEAD OF RSAC™ Conference

Apr. 3 2025

Bureau Veritas is participating in its first RSAC™ 2025 Conference, which takes place April 28 to May 1 in San Francisco. The 2025 annual gathering of global information security experts is more important than ever. Today, new-generation cyber challenges are set to have major and long-lasting effects on the planet, nations, society, and business.

Bureau Veritas at RSAC™ Conference

Bureau Veritas is a partner for 500,000 customers around the world and a trusted advisor on these new challenges – including the sub-topics of Digital Security Certification, Information Security, and Cybersecurity, as well as corporate digital responsibility. This is backed by 200 years of experience, 40 years of certification expertise, and 25 years of consultancy competence.

At RSAC™ 2025 Conference, Bureau Veritas’ team will present its auditing, certification, training, consultancy, and testing services, combined into one innovative approach. Its services cover more than 200 technical schemes and standards. This includes everything from governance to asset management, privacy protection to cybersecurity, compliance to conformity, and code review to pentesting

Ahead of this year’s RSAC™ 2025 Conference, Bogdan Tobol, Global InfoSecurity Leader at Bureau Veritas, shares his insights on three main trends evolving in this sector: artificial intelligence (AI), quantum computing (QC), and integrated compliance framework (ICF).

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

AI will be, without a doubt, the hot topic at this year’s conference”, says Bogdan. “AI is evolving faster than any information and communication technology (ICT) we’ve seen before. And with it, AI-driven security risks such as malware and exploits, deepfake-based phishing, and fraud are accelerating at unprecedented levels".

But we must remember that AI models and products are simple services and systems like any other, which require thorough awareness, risk assessment, management systems, and regular testing. And AI, together with machine learning (ML) and big data, are just part of a new wave of technologies that have shaken things up. Quantum and edge computing, blockchain, and decentralized finance (DeFi) are also important topics to consider.”

Navigating these emerging challenges is not a new scenario for Bureau Veritas, which has responded rapidly to hundreds of new innovations evolving in parallel throughout its history. Just as ICT has become integral to everyday life, so too has AI. Its use has penetrated into all spheres and will become the norm across nations, society, and organizations.

In the case of AI, topics such as true understanding and reasoning are major concerns,” adds Bogdan. “We are able to advise companies on due diligence approaches, and on the implementation of trusted and robust management systems. Bureau Veritas has the advantage of a global presence and local expertise to support customers in handling the latest regulation and standards around AI.

Bureau Veritas’ expertise also covers the responsible use of AI and digital sustainability. As Bogdan explains: “Our strength in this area is our expertise in energy, building, and infrastructure, alongside environmental, social, and governance (ESG) guidelines. This means we are able to help commission data centers and support energy efficiency management and renewable energy use.

QUANTUM COMPUTING

QUANTUM COMPUTING For Bureau Veritas, quantum computing is still in its early stages. First-generation cryptography, vulnerable to cyberattacks due to its classical systems, is making way for stronger, post-quantum models. Computation is scaling up at a fast pace, opening up new opportunities for learning, engineering, modeling, and optimization. QC will speed up AI and ML, enabling precise simulations in physics, climate modeling, advanced materials engineering, biotech, and chemicals.

To prepare for this shift, Bureau Veritas is already employing additional manufacturing, extended reality, unmanned autonomous systems, and AI in its own operations. Bureau Veritas’ initiatives to stay at the cutting-edge of technology is a part of our LEAP 28 strategy focused on our performance and people.

LEAP 28 enables us to remain at the forefront of innovation and offer customers advanced technological solutions,” says Bogdan. “Demonstrating our commitment to corporate responsibility means we remain a trusted partner for our customers.

INTEGRATED COMPLIANCE FRAMEWORKS

A key challenge for businesses is constantly adapting to regulatory changes concerning sustainable development and ethics in relation to technology safety and security. In line with this evolution, Bureau Veritas’ clients are proactively asking for an integrated governance, risk, and compliance approach. Our integrated compliance frameworks (ICFs) unify multiple compliance requirements into a single, cohesive system that fosters customers’ assurance and serenity.

By anticipating change and adopting ICFs, our customers stay competitive in a volatile and demanding world. Conducting supply chain security, business continuity, and digital resilience audits reveal new challenges that companies can address early, rather than simply responding to compliance requirements. It helps them to remain resilient, future-proof, and competitive.

As companies worldwide head to RSAC™ 2025 Conference, Bogdan concludes: “There’s a real benefit to taking an ICF approach when it comes to new technology. For our teams, this is no longer about information security – it’s about digital corporate responsibility in its widest sense.
