This is the time to know more about our colleague Lingzhi Xing, from Singapore.

She has been working for Bureau Veritas since 2020, started as the Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist in the CIF Asia Pacific & Middle East Operating Group and for the last 2 years has been our Head of Internal Communications and E-Influence at the Bureau Veritas Corporative team. Let's know more about her trajectory as a BV Trust Maker.

Give us a quick introduction about you:

My name is Lingzhi Xing, currently the Group Head of Internal Communications & E-Influence, based in Singapore. My objectives are to connect with and listen to our employees and other stakeholders of the company via various internal and social channels, as well as to support the global communications teams with resources and guidance.

In a few words, could you describe your career path?

I started in Bureau Veritas as the Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist in the CIF Asia Pacific & Middle East Operating Group. In that role, I worked with the various regions to communicate and set targets and plans to achieve BV's 2025 CSR ambitions. Last year, I joined the Global Communications team as Head of Internal Communications and E-Influence. Prior to joining BV, I worked in social impact consulting, which taught me a lot about problem-solving and stakeholder management. Personally, I always strive to do work that I find meaningful, as I think it's important to enjoy and find fulfilment in how we spend the majority of our time each day.

How could you describe your work at the Bureau Veritas Corporate Team?

It’s a really cliche thing to say that every day is different, but that’s truly how it feels to work in Communications. I love that it’s so dynamic and there’s always a new challenge around the corner. On any given day, we could prepare content, plan campaigns, discuss with different teams, review the performance of our projects, and so much more. We also always have to keep an eye on trends and good practices out there to stay relevant. I’m in a unique position of working from Asia (Singapore) while part of the team is based in Paris, France, and another colleague is in Lisbon, Portugal. With the time difference, I get the opportunity to focus on deep work in the mornings while dedicating the afternoons to meetings and collaboration, and I consider this focused time a luxury that allows me the space to think clearly and to get important work done before Paris wakes up.

What do you enjoy the most about working with the Corporate team?

How diverse the team is. We have individuals from various nationalities within the team, both at the head office and in offices around the world. In the corporate team, a big part of what we do involves collaborating with the global network and cross-functionally across different teams. At the head office, we sometimes serve as a connector to identify good practices within regions and I’m always excited to discover something new and innovative done in a different country. I learn a lot simply by looking at the great work our colleagues are doing worldwide, and I gain a better appreciation of the nuances of what works and what doesn't in different cultures and with different employee profiles.

What would you say to someone considering a career at BV?

Absolutely! We have a timeless mission of Shaping a World of Trust that I’m incredibly proud to be part of and a broad and exciting portfolio of activities. We’re always looking for people who are resourceful and passionate. Joining BV is an opportunity to be part of an international company that is responding to society’s key challenges in quality, health and safety, environmental protection and social responsibility.
