Raising Resilience against Ransomware Attacks

WEBINAR: Raising Resilience against Ransomware Attacks

How to Protect Yourself against Ransomware Attacks?

About the Webinar

Ransomware is one of the biggest threats for organizations nowadays. The expectation is that this threat will grow even further. That is because ransomware is such a lucrative business case for cybercriminals: organizations are too often unprepared for these attacks and decide to pay the ransom, while ransomware components are readily available and the chance of getting caught is very small. In this webinar, we will investigate these factors and explain how organizations can become more resilient against these attacks. We will be using examples of recent ransomware attacks in different industries, such as the government, critical infrastructure, and industry.

About the Speaker

The webinar will be led by Paul Pols, Secura’s Ransomware Resilience Principal. Paul is also a lecturer at the University of Leiden for the executive master’s degree in Cyber Security. He teaches network security with a focus on attack lifecycle and Kill chain models such as MITRE ATT&CK and the Unified Kill Chain. He developed the Unified Kill Chain threat model to describe attack paths, which can be used to analyze, compare, and defend against cyberattacks by advanced threat actors. Before he joined Secura, Paul also worked as a principal security expert and as a principal technical and legal advisor for the Investigatory Powers Commission (in Dutch: TIB) that reviews the exercise of special powers by the Dutch intelligence and security services.
